The Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that supports the animals served by the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control. Through the leadership of a volunteer Board of Directors, money raised by the Foundation is used in many ways to enhance care and increase adoption of homeless animals. These include:

Dream Comes True: The Department accepts all animals in need regardless of their medical condition. While the Department does treat basic medical needs, it does not have the resources to repair serious medical conditions that require surgery or long term convalescent care. Dreams Come True provides funding for these additional medical expenses so these animals can be assured of a road to recovery and adoption.

Grooming Gives Hope: Often, dogs are brought to our shelters severely matted and dirty. Not only is this condition painful for the dog, it makes it nearly unadoptable due to its dirty condition. Through Grooming Gives Hope, these dogs are thoroughly groomed and bathed, making them healthier, happier and more adoptable.

Shelter Enhancements: The Foundation has paid for numerous enhancements to animal care programs and facilities. These include medical supplies and equipment, pet exercise areas, misting systems to cool the animals in the summer, a new horse barn at our Lancaster shelter, animal rescue equipment, support for off-site adoptions, repairs to facilities and much more!

There are many ways to help Los Angeles County animals.

• Donate on line through our secure server. You may make a one-time donation or become a Faithful Friend through automatic donation payments on your credit card.

• Mail a check to the Foundation

• Send a donation in honor of a loved one’s birthday or other special event

• Make a memorial contribution in the memory of a loved one or special pet

• Purchase a designer pet tag that also serves as your official license tag. Proceeds from the sale of designer tags go to support Foundation activities.

• Remember the Foundation in your will or estate
