Adoptions: The SAVE Program

The SAVE Program

UPDATE

The SAVE Program started at all six Los Angeles County Animal Shelters in 2000.

The program has already helped more than 43,200 shelter pets find new loving homes by making the cost of adoption only $32 for cats and $37 for dogs.

This price includes initial vaccinations, spaying and neutering, a 7-day exchange and a free veterinary medical examination at a participating veterinary office.

The fee does not include the mandatory pet licensing fee for adult animals with owners residing in county unincorporated areas and cities serviced by the department.

Adopting pets through the SAVE Program is limited to one pet per household.

The SAVE Program is proudly sponsored by the Animal Care Foundation.
