Thank you for considering adopting an animal from your County of Los Angeles Animal Care Centers! Your kindness will be repaid countless times by the love and affection of your new family member.

You can help us to achieve our goal of placing shelter pets into new, forever homes.  While every animal has its own personality, different animals are bred to have specific traits.  It can be helpful to learn about these when you are interested in a specific breed of animal. Our staff and volunteers make every effort to get to know each animal on a personal basis so they may be able to help guide you in selecting the right pet for you, your family, and your lifestyle.

All adoptable animals are vaccinated against common diseases, micro-chipped, and are spayed or neutered. Additional medical care may have been provided if the animal required further treatment. A free post-adoption veterinary exam (at participating SCVMA veterinary locations) is also included with your adoption.

Please note that we update our animal web pages as often as possible. However, due to the large number of animals we receive and adopt every day, we cannot guarantee the animals listed here will still be available when you visit our care centers.  Also, please note that we attempt to be as accurate as possible when it comes to identifying an animal’s breed.

Haven’t found the perfect pet for you?  Don’t despair!  We receive several hundred new animals every day, so add our website to your “favorites” list and periodically check our adoptable pets. Better yet, visit your nearest Animal Care Center where your new pet may be waiting for you.

Also, if you would like to post a photo of a lost or found pet, you may do so on our Facebook page.
