The animals residing at our Care Centers are always in need of the loving and compassionate support that a volunteer can offer and there are many ways to help enrich their lives either at the care center or from your own home.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer with the Department of Animal Care and Control. However, we do have offsite projects for those under 16 who want to support our care center and provide enrichment for our animals.
Please click the link below for a list of our approved DIY Service Projects. These projects can also be completed in order to receive hours for school or another organization. The link below will explain how to submit for hours.
If you are 16 or over and need to complete a significant number of hours of service for school or another organization, we may be able to accommodate you at the care center. Please email volunteer@animalcare.lacounty.gov for more information.
