The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) is actively assisting Ventura County Animal Services during this challenging time as the Sandy Fire continues to burn approximately 1,386 acres in the region.

DACC urges residents in the affected area of the Bell Canyon community who have large animals to evacuate them to the Pierce College Equestrian Center. For small animals, residents should contact Ventura County Animal Services for assistance.

Evacuation Locations:

• Pierce College Equestrian Center
6201 Winnetka Avenue, Woodland Hills, CA 91367
• Ventura County Animal Services
600 Aviation Drive, Camarillo, CA 93010 (805) 388-4341

For residents impacted by the Sandy Fire outside of the Bell Canyon community with large animals, please proceed to the following location:

• Ventura Fairgrounds and Event Center
10 East Harbor Boulevard, Ventura, CA 93001

“During this critical time, the safety and well-being of both residents and their animals are our top priority,” said Chief Deputy Director Danny Ubario. “We urge everyone in the affected areas to seek shelter and evacuate their animals to the designated facilities as soon as possible.”

DACC remains committed to assisting those in the affected areas and encourages all residents to take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety and that of their pets.
