The Los Angeles County’s Animal Care Centers (ACC) provide a full range of care for animals admitted into the ACCs. This includes nutritious food, medical exams upon admission, vaccination against common diseases, flea and tick treatment, daily medical monitoring and treatment, and behavior and enrichment programs.
The ACCs are full-service animal resource centers. Officers are based at each ACC to provide field services to areas served by that ACC. The ACCs also work diligently to reunite lost pets with their families and adopt homeless pets into new homes. Emergency responses to dangerous animals, wildfires and other natural disasters, animal cruelty investigations and rescues, and other animal care and control related activities are also managed through the ACCs.
Payments for fees can be made in person at any ACC, but payments will likely be faster if completed using our online portal. DACC encourages pet families to take advantage of our online services to reduce in-person waiting times.
Administrative services are centralized at DACC’s Long Beach office. Please note that there are no animals housed at our Administrative offices, and payments for fees cannot be completed at this location.
Our ACC visitation hours are listed here and also on the specific web page for each location. While there is a number for the Administrative Office that can be called for general information, our Communications Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please see the Contact Us page for specific information.
Animal Care Centers and related services are open seven days a week with the following hours:

Sundays and Holidays
Limited services.
Limited services: The animal care centers are closed for public viewing. The ACCs will continue to admit stray animals to protect animal and public safety, reunite lost pets with their families, and process Adoption Partner (registered animal rescue group) placements. This includes adoptions, lost and found, and general pet assistance.
Animals are available for viewing during open hours at each of the seven animal care centers. A staff member or a volunteer will be on hand to assist you in viewing Ready to Go Home (RTGH) animals. RTGH animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and ready to go home with a new family that day! All RTGH animals are adopted on a first-come, first-served basis.
