Ordinance to Amend Dog Limits 150 150 Animal Care and Control

LONG BEACH, Calif. — A motion was introduced at Tuesday’s Board Meeting to increase the per household dog limit. This does not mean that laws have changed. There is no immediate impact to residents. The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care (DACC) and Control and Los Angeles County Counsel will prepare a draft ordinance to amend Los Angeles County Code Section 10.20.038 as next steps.

Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control, Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA), Long Beach Animal Care Services (LBACS), and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA), and urge residents who recently adopted or rescued a dog or cat from Texas following Hurricane Harvey to have the animal seen by a veterinarian, screened for infectious diseases, and treated if necessary
